Good morning, and welcome to another edition of Hunky Hump Day. This week is inspired by “Guardians of the Galaxy”. The reviewer for Time magazine called it a bratty Star Wars. Au contraire (“Tish, you spoke French!”), I was surprised by how much I liked it. I figured there would be a lot of in-jokes that only the comic book readers would get. Well, maybe there were, but I enjoyed this movie and would pay to see it again. So let’s listen to a song from the soundtrack first.

The lead is Chris Pratt.


Not only is he cute, but he lost 60 lbs getting ready for Guardians.

Dave Bautista plays the part of Drax.

Michael Rooker sounded familiar, so I had to look him up. He’s from Jasper, Alabama, and he was in “Tombstone“.

Benicio Del Toro looks much better here than he did as The Collector.

Good morning, and welcome to another edition of Hunky Hump Day. Last week was Game of Thrones theme. While I like the show, it’s not appropriate for Mini-me. Our current favorite for family viewing is Merlin, a BBC show that borrows from the legend but doesn’t feel obliged to strictly follow Sir Thomas Malory. Now when we watched all of the classic Star Trek episodes, there was the trifecta – Kirk kisses a girl, Kirk gets his shirt ripped, someone punches an alien. Merlin has the trifecta as well – Merlin gets something disgusting on him, Morgana has a bad dream, Arthur gets hurt. Mini-me argues that going to talk to the dragon should replace one of those. Good fun.

So let’s play this song that I have on a cassette tape somewhere in the basement (my lawn, get off of it) and meet some of the hunky hunks of Merlin.

Welcome to our FIRST ZUMBA HUNKY HUMP DAY!!!!! Isn’t this going to be exciting? I’m just so happy I can share this with all of you, my darlings.

My zumba “studio” knows I prefer to listen to metal when I “dance party”, and they usually accommodate me. So put your Belly Scarf on and let’s get started!

First, a little background information. As most everyone knows, I used to belong to a cult, and it was only through the loving intervention of the H2 that I saw the error of my ways, abandoned my “box” (whore mouths, shut them), and switched to the fitness craze (and dance party) that is sweeping the nation.

Zumba involves dance and aerobic elements. Zumba’s choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue and mambo. Squats and lunges are also included.

Oh, but there is more:

Zumba sessions are typically about an hour long and are taught by instructors licensed by an organization called Zumba Academy.[6] The exercises include music with fast and slow rhythms, as well as resistance training.[7] The music comes from the following dance styles: cumbia, salsa, merengue, mambo, flamenco, chachacha, reggaeton, soca, samba, hip hop music, axé music and tango.

Good morning, and welcome to another edition of Hunky Hump Day. Monday was a “technology expo” which turned out to be more like a dog-and-pony show for the suits from DC and a day away from work for the rest of us. Apparently some people *said* they were going to the expo and took the rest of the day off. My boss asked us who could verify our presence there, and since I had manned (womanned?) the booth most of the day, I decided to be a smart-ass and started rattling off names. After I’d named about ten people, another co-worker interrupted with, “Life is a rock, but the radio rolled me!” Everyone over 40 laughed. So here’s the song of the day, from 1974 so it fits Oso’s theory.

I don’t really have a theme for the day. I have 20 minutes to throw this together, so let’s see who’s in the HHD folder.

I visited my dad last weekend, and he usually keeps it on either football or the Encore Western channel with young ‘uns around because then no one gets embarrassed by soap opera bed-hopping or Dr. Phil’s latest patient. Encore Western aired a classic episode of “Cheyenne“, starring Clint Walker.


Well, it wasn’t long until there was a fight and Marshall Bodie had to take off his shirt to clean up.
